Flooring wax oil. Liquid floor wax helps to seal and protect beautiful hardwood floors by protecting them from scratches nicks spill stains and other marks. Ideal for testing colour shades prior to application. Solid wax is a time consuming and complicated way to preserve your hardwood floors and liquid wax serves as a quicker and simpler alternative that gets the job done. The main one is maintenance.
As you would with any flooring sand down your wood using 120 grit sandpaper with a floor sander let the dust settle before vacuuming it up. In fact oiled floors are easier to maintain and repair than lacquered floors with modern maintenance methods and kits. Penetrating oil lends the wood a more natural appearance than polyurethane. This means that the repair process is easier as well.
With penetrating oils most hardwood floor repairs simply require an application of a cleaning solution and simply re oil the problem area. It is a great way of protecting your wood floors from the negative effects of daily wear and tear. Unlike urethane finishes natural oil and hard wax oil finishes often come in a variety of tints eliminating the need for a stain. New oak lightening hard wax oil a lightly tinted hard wax oil that once applied maintains the natural colour of the timber extremely popular on oak and lighter woods such as ash sycamore and maple.
With hard wax oil the actual finishing process is much easier and faster than traditional urethane finishes. The finish will tend to be a matte to satin. Easy to apply without any need for sanding in between coats this oil can be buffed up to have a higher level of sheen or left to retain its natural. Clear satin and matt are available in 250 ml 1 liter and 2 5 liter.
How frequently the floor requires cleaning will ultimately determine the regularity that re oiling or oil refreshing process is required. This wood flooring oil is completely clear and is made up of a mixture of natural oils and waxes. Oil finishes are great for commercial applications as well including restaurants hotels and convention centers. Once all the dust is gone wipe down the floor with white spirit and leave it to dry before oiling.
A gloss finish can be achieved by applying a coating of wax to an oil finished floor but we do not recommend this course. There is a big misconception about wood floors finished with oils and hard wax oils. Hard wax oil finished floors can be spot repaired with just a light sanding of the affected area followed by a topical coat of oil. For peace of mind we suggest applying a hard wax maintenance oil every 6 10 months.
